Pharmaceutics is a type of discipline of Pharmacy that deals with all process of developing a new chemical Molecules into a safe and effective medication. It is the branch of dosage form design which deals with the formulation of a Core drug substance into a Particular dosage form.
Pharmaceutics is a branch and subject that included in all 4 years of B. Pharm Course in MUIT. As It is a wide branch it consists of various branches like:
Physical Pharmacy: This is such a type of Subject which deals with States of matter –Physical and Chemical Properties.
Pharmaceutical Engineering: This provides vast knowledge about the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Pharmaceutical Microbiology: This branch of biology that deals with microorganisms and their effects on other living organisms and human beings as well.
Dispensing Pharmacy: It has a great role in Health care for the Patient’s medications specially Prescription of Medicines.
Hospital Pharmacy and Drug Store Management: It is a specialized field of pharmacy which forms an integrated part of Healthcare.
Cosmetology: It is Deals with the formulation of varied cosmetic preparations and their use.
Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics: The science and study of the ways in which the Pharmaceutical formulation of administered agents can influence their Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetic behavior.
Novel Drug Delivery Systems (NDDS): Study of new techniques of drug delivery.
The labs have been constructed with concealed water and sewage lines, laminated table tops, lights and provision of adequate lockers.
MUIT – Labs of Pharmaceutics
At Maharishi University of Information Technology, the Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences has a well-equipped infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories with Latest technologies which is essential for Pharmacy Laboratory Procedures, with easy access for students.
There are three Pharmaceutics labs in the department, including an AC instrumentation lab and a machine room.
The Pharmaceutics laboratories have the latest machines for example multi- station Franz diffusion cell assembly,12 station Tablet compression machine etc.. The goal of these labs is to give aspiring pharmacists hands-on experience in Physical Pharmaceutics, Manufacturing Operations, Pre-formulation Screening Tests, Designing, Evaluation, and Pharmacokinetic Study of solid, liquid, and semisolid dosage forms, as well as Novel Drug Delivery Systems for ocular, nasal, transungual, trans mucosal, trans labial, transnabhi, soft palatal drug delivery systems, etc.
